Dan’s Story

Dan has over a decade of experience helping students get accepted at top boarding schools, as well as undergraduate and graduate programs at the Ivy League and equivalent level. He was formerly an active member of the Columbia Alumni Representative Committee and interviewed candidates for admissions.

Dan received his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a Master of Laws with Distinction in International Banking and Finance from University College London. He also graduated magna cum laude a year early from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Religion and Neuroscience.

Cindy’s Story

Cindy has over ten years of experience in U.S. boarding school and undergraduate admissions, and also has expertise in student athlete recruitment. She was formerly an active member of the Princeton Alumni Representative Committee and interviewed students for admissions.

Cindy graduated from Princeton University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History and East Asian Studies. She was also a letter-winner on Princeton’s NCAA Division I Varsity Tennis Team. Prior to Princeton, Cindy attended Hong Kong International School and was a top player on the Hong Kong National Tennis Team.

Lucy’s Story

Lucy specializes in UK admissions for boarding schools and universities. She is also an expert in international school admissions in Hong Kong. Lucy graduated with Honours from the London School of Economics (LSE) with a degree in Government and Economics and a Master of Science with Distinction in Analysis Design & Management of Information Systems. Prior to attending LSE, she studied at Benenden School in Kent.

Marie’s Story

Marie specializes in teaching English, humanities, and biology across all major curriculum, as well as standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, MAP, and SCAT. She has also helped many student secure offers from top boarding schools and universities including the Ivy Leagues, UCs and Oxbridge. She formerly interviewed students for admissions to Stanford University and HKU. She graduated with honors from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology, earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California (USC), and completed a Masters in Public Health with distinction at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

Maitreyi’s Story

Maitreyi specializes in teaching biology, psychology, English, and math across all major curriculums. She also prepares students for standardized exams such as the SCAT, ISEE, SSAT, SAT and ACT. She holds a Master’s degree in Social & Consumer Psychology from NYU, has worked at a children’s psychology lab at Boston University, and was an assistant teacher at the Barnard College Toddler Center. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience & Behaviour from Barnard College.

Christy specialises in teaching English and humanities subjects across all major curriculums, as well as standardised tests such as the MAP, SCAT, SSAT, and ISEE. She graduated with a degree in Politics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics (LSE). Prior to university, Christy attended Badminton School in the UK, where she completed her GCSEs and A-Levels.

Charlynn’s Story

Charlynn specializes in teaching chemistry, biology, math and English, as well as standardized tests such as the MAP, SCAT, SSAT and ISEE. She graduated with honors in Chemistry from the University of Bath, and earned a Master of Science with Distinction in Forensic Science, specializing in forensic chemistry. She has won numerous awards and scholarships for her outstanding academic performance, especially in science and English. Prior to university, Charlynn excelled at the IGCSE and IB programs.

Zak’s Story

Zak specializes in tutoring students on all academic subjects and standardized tests for US admissions. He has also advised many students who successfully gained admissions to the Ivy Leagues, UCs and Oxbridge. Zak graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University as a Rabi Scholar in Economics and History. Prior to university, he scored a perfect 5 on 15 AP exams.

Jessalyn’s Story

Jessalyn specialises in teaching English, humanities, and mathematics to international school students undergoing the International Baccalaureate programme. She has extensive experience working with students in group settings, as well as those with learning difficulties. She also has experience preparing students for standardised tests such as the SSAT, ISEE, MAP and SCAT, as well as entrance exams for UK boarding schools. Jessalyn is also the instructor for the IB MYP project course. 

Jessalyn holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she was awarded the S.H. Ho Matriculation Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Prior to university, she attended Renaissance College, where she graduated from the IB Diploma Programme.

Hazel’s Story

Hazel specialises in tutoring Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics for all major curriculums. She graduated from Oxford University with a First Class Honours in MEng Engineering Science and is now working towards a PhD in Bioengineering. Prior to university, she was the top scorer globally and in Malaysia for A-Level Chemistry and AS-Level Mathematics respectively, and achieved A* on all A-Level science and math exams. Hazel formerly served as a member of the admissions team for St. Hilda’s College, Oxford University, and has extensive experience supporting students planning to pursue mathematics and the sciences.

Hilary’s Story

Hilary specializes in teaching the sciences, math and English across all major curricula including the IB, IGCSE/GCSE, A-Levels and AP. She is also experienced in preparing students for standardized tests such as the MAP, SCAT, SSAT and ISEE. Hilary is a PhD candidate in Neurobiology at the University of Hong Kong. Prior to that, she earned a degree in Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior and a minor in English Literature at the University of California, Davis; and attended Li Po Chun United World College where she studied the IBDP.

Yuka’s Story

Yuka has over five years of experience working with students on IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and IB English and English Literature, and preparing them for standardized tests for entrance to international schools in Hong Kong as well as the SCAT, MAP, ISEE and SSAT. Yuka graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in English Studies and Comparative Literature, with a focus in film.

Giles’s Story

Giles specialises in teaching humanities subjects including English, History and Geography. He also works closely with young children in building their English and math foundations. Giles graduated from Edinburgh University with a Master of Arts in History. Prior to that, he attended Charterhouse School, a renowned boarding school in the UK, where he studied for his GCSEs, A-Levels and Pre-U. Before joining Aegis, Giles taught English at the post-secondary level and also gained extensive experience in preparing students for interviews.

Connie has more than a decade of experience tutoring students in all major curriculums and exams in maths and physics. She graduated with Honours from Imperial College London with a degree in Mathematics. Prior to that, she attended boarding school in the UK where she achieved highest grades in A Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

Santhia’s Story

Santhia graduated from the University of Western Australia, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Anatomical Sciences and also a Graduate Diploma of Education, with a focus on secondary and special needs education. Santhia enjoys working with students of all ages and tutors them on a range of subjects including English, mathematics, biology, and chemistry. She also helps students prepare for standardized exams such as the SSAT, SAT, ACT and the Common Entrance.


UK Medical School Advisor UCL, Warwick

Tom’s Story

Tom studied medicine at the University of Warwick’s graduate-entry programme. He graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in Physiology & Pharmacology. Tom received the highest mark on his laboratory-based dissertation in cardiovascular disease.

Prior to Warwick, Tom worked for four years with adolescents with mental health disorders on an inpatient unit, whilst also working as a research assistant with the University of Oxford. Tom has published one review article on cannabis use in adolescence, and a primary paper on brain developments in adolescents with schizophrenia. Tom advises for undergraduate and graduate level Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology and Pharmacology related courses.

Melinda’s Story

Melinda graduated from Central Saint Martins with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Marketing. She is also a graduate of the King George V School in Hong Kong. Melinda has extensive experience working in various fashion houses and retail companies, including Lane Crawford, Raf Simons and Agatha Paris, and is currently working on the launch of her own swimwear brand in Asia.

She enjoys helping students who aspire to pursue their education and careers in art, design and fashion, by working closely with them through the unique application process and helping them develop strong portfolios.

Cora’s Story

Cora is a pioneer in marriage, parent, child, and family coaching, and has worked with hundreds of families for over 10 years. A coach, speaker, trainer and parent of two teenagers herself, Cora strives to foster understanding by bridging generational and cultural gaps, and makes difficult and sensitive topics accessible to any audience.

Cora holds two degrees from the University of British Columbia and is a Professional Board Certified Life Coach. She has spoken at and worked with families in a number of international and local schools, and also corporates, in Hong Kong.
